Prairie Typography is perhaps one of my favourite accounts on Instagram, if not one of my favourite Instagram communities. An ongoing exploration into typography on the prairies (as you may have guessed), it is a collection of old signs, worn down motels and bright neon signs. Mostly though, it is an excuse to pull off the main highway and meander through towns or areas that may otherwise have been forgotten. As buildings collapse and branding gets updated, Prairie Typography ensures that there is a document of the visual vernacular that once inhabited the prairies, and keeps my eyes focused out the window on any roadtrip, short or long.
